Chaplain for Atlanta Braves to speak in Griffin Tuesday!

The special guest this coming Tuesday, September 4th, at the Oak Hill Baptist Church Power Lunch will be Jay McSwain. Jay is the chaplain for the Atlanta Braves. Jay will be sharing insights about the pressures to perform and the spiritual struggles that occur inside the Braves clubhouse. You will be inspirited to reflect upon your own talents and gifts, and how you measure success in your life.  Cost to attend is $10.00, which includes lunch, networking & inspirational message from by Pastor Chris Holdorf.

Jay McSwain is an established author and speaker, known around the country as an expert in church member assimilation. He is also the founder and president of PLACE Ministries. Jay and PLACE Ministries are committed to helping ministers, church leaders and laymen thrive in the areas of ministry that God has designed them to engage.

For over 25 years, Jay has been helping people discover their unique God-given traits and abilities while helping them maximize their personal effectiveness in both life and ministry. Jay is a passionate leader that has impacted the lives of countless youth, singles and adults as he lives out his life verse, “you find your life as you give it away,” Matthew 16:25. He has seen lives change and groups within churches experience unprecedented numeric and spiritual growth as people begin to discover what they have to give-and then giving it away!

Early in his adult life Jay helped facilitate the rapid growth of his family’s business, a development and home-building business in the Southeast. Jay has served as both staff member and lay-volunteer in churches ranging in membership size from 10 to over 9,000 members. After leaving his family’s business in 1996 he and his wife Ginger moved to the San Francisco area to partner with Golden Gate Seminary to research the school’s alumni. He received his M. Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the following years Jay developed one of the leading assimilation resource tools in the world, reaching thousands of churches and people across the country.

Jay has written more than 10 books and numerous other resources focused on helping the church and its members. He is currently developing new resources for churches in equipping, empowering and encouraging ministry servants. Jay also serves as a trustee at Golden Gate Seminary. In 2011 Jay was provided the privilege to become the Chaplin for the Atlanta Braves. Often he is asked what he does with the Braves players and he has a simple response, “I do life with guys that play professional baseball and we do very little talking about baseball.”

His life experiences and his passion for people, along with his dynamic leadership and motivational style, offer a unique perspective in assessing the health of the church. Jay and his wife Ginger married in 1991 and have two beautiful girls, Maggie and Mary.

Oak Hill invites you to join them on the first Tuesday of each month at 11:45 am for Power Lunch.

100 Lakeside Rd, Williamson, GA 30292
